1. A:Which do you like better, orange or lemon?
A:橘子和檸檬你更喜歡哪個(gè)？
B:I like orange better.
B:我更喜歡橘子.
詢(xún)問(wèn)某人比較喜歡什么，也就是asking what someone prefers，我們可以用like sth better，better是更好的意思，用一個(gè)比較級(jí)來(lái)表達(dá)偏愛(ài)是很實(shí)用的。
2.A:How do Mark and Jones compare,in your opinion?
A:在你看來(lái)，和瓊斯相比馬克怎么樣？
B:Generally speaking,Mark's personality is much more agreeable than Jones
B:總的看來(lái)，我認(rèn)為馬克比瓊斯性格更讓人喜歡。
在這里用到了How do……compare,in your opinion?這個(gè)句型，表示…和…相比怎么樣，是一種比較正式的說(shuō)法。這個(gè)時(shí)候我們用到than這個(gè)詞，than作為介詞是寧愿，含有比較的意思在里面sth is more+adj+than也是很常用的用于偏愛(ài)的句型。
3.A: It is a beautiful day. Would you like to take a walk?
A:今天天氣真好，你愿意出去散步嗎？
B: No, I’d rather stay at home than go out.
B:不，我寧愿呆在家里也不愿出去散步。
這句話(huà)的重點(diǎn)落在了would rather do than do上面
(1)rather than與would連用時(shí)，構(gòu)成“would rather...than...”句式，意思是“寧愿……而不愿……”，表示主觀(guān)愿望，即在兩者之中選擇其一。
eg:She'd rather die than lose the children.她寧愿死也不愿失去孩子們。
(2)使用would rather…than…句型時(shí)要注意“平行結(jié)構(gòu)”，即在than的前后要用兩個(gè)同類(lèi)的詞或詞組，如兩個(gè)名詞、兩個(gè)不定式、兩個(gè)介詞短語(yǔ)等。
eg:I would rather go to work by bike than by bus.我寧愿騎自行車(chē)也不愿乘公共汽車(chē)去上班。
(3)在疑問(wèn)句式中，would rather與would rather…than…中的would要放在主語(yǔ)之前:
eg: Would you rather stay here or go home?你愿意呆在這里，還是回家？
3.A: I think during the holidays you can stay at home reading novels.
A:我想在假期里你可以呆在家里看小說(shuō)了。
B: I prefer doing something useful outside to staying at home reading.
B:我寧愿到外面干點(diǎn)有益的事，好過(guò)呆在家里看小說(shuō)。
在這段對(duì)話(huà)中，重點(diǎn)注意prefer這個(gè)單詞
(1)prefer A to B (AB皆為名詞)
eg:I prefer the blue ball to the black ball.我更喜歡藍(lán)色球而不喜歡黑色球.
(2)prefer doing A to doing B=would rather do A than do B=like doing A better than doing B
eg:I prefer walking to running.我更喜歡走路而不喜歡跑步.
3.prefer to do A(沒(méi)有比較，只做一件事的就用這個(gè)）=would rather do A
eg:I prefer to sing.我更喜歡唱歌。
